iPad 2 Live: Apple’s iMovie ’11 & GarageBand for iPad Coming to the App Store on March 11
We’ve seen specs and features and pricing details and release dates for the iPad 2, not to mention a whole iOS 4.3 features rundown earlier today, but Apple didn’t stop there. It also decided to make sure that those iPad and iPad 2 customers that are particularly interested in video-editing or music-playing on the go can use their Apple tablet to aide them with these two passions / work-related chores.

In other words Apple announced iMovie ’11 and GarageBand for the iPad and iPad 2 and we can expect to see them both in the App Store starting with March 11. Each of them will cost $4.99, and those of you familiar with the iLife suite will certainly want to use the same apps on Apple’s iOS tablet too.
With iMovie you’ll be able to take your home videos or work-related videos on the road and do some quick editing without needing a mouse or a keyboard. And when you’re done arranging your scenes and adding your movies you’ll be able to share them via YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, and others.
GarageBand on the other hand will be one of the favorite apps for a lot of musicians out there. We’ve seen some amazing music played using current iOS music apps on the original iPad and we can only expect even more of that in the near future. GarageBand will bring you a ton of instruments to choose from and a ton of options to help you either learn how to play a certain instrument or record and mix your masterpieces. And the best part is, if you don’t play a certain instrument, well, Apple will help you with that thanks to a new Smart Instruments feature.
