iPad Deleted From Best Buy Inventory

In case you needed any more evidence that tomorrow’s Apple press event will unveil a new iPad (aside from the corner of the iPad seen in the invitation), how about this? Sources inside Best Buy have snapped images of Best Buy’s inventory system, which show all current SKUs of the iPad as “DELETED”. Unless Best Buy and Apple have decided to stop selling the popular Apple tablet in one of the largest American electronics chains, it looks like we’ll see a new iPad tomorrow.

As MacRumors points out, Best Buy and these other third-party retailer inventory spycam shots can’t always be counted on as a 100% solid – but Best Buy is still an important retailer for Apple. As far as we know, nothing new has been added to Best Buy’s inventory system.

The iPad is facing stiff competition this year, mainly from the Android tablets. The Motorola Xoom is finally out, while Samsung and LG also have top-notch Android tablets coming. BlackBerry has their PlayBook tablet coming too, with the new QNX software on board. Despite all that competition, many industry analysts think that Apple will runaway with the market this year (again) with the iPad 2. So, a lot of eyes are on the iPad 2 announcement to see what Apple will have up their sleeves tomorrow.

There are even rumors that Steve Jobs will make a surprise announcement at the event tomorrow. I doubt that will happen, but it would be a welcome surprise for the Apple fans.
