Apple iPad 2 May Have Been Revealed

The next Apple media event is just a few days away and while the invitation made it rather clear that we were going to see something iPad related, now seems to be the time when the last minute rumors begin heating up. Coming this morning we have what looks like a rather convincing iPad 2 image as well as a surprising to see iPad bezel in white.

Lets first begin with the more convincing (of the two) image, at this point it is just one picture and only of the back of the iPad. That said, it shows off the camera lens, as well as the volume rocker, mute toggle switch, dock connector, speaker grill and the Apple logo and iPad branding. There is also the black bar up along the top which those with an iPad 3G will find as familiar.

Otherwise, what can really be said, this image comes with few details other than that it was provided by a “tipster” and that it looks “very convincing.” But that being said, this is clearly a mockup, and most likely a Photoshop mockup by a fanboy (or girl). Plus the one item I cannot help but notice as missing is the headphone jack. Or maybe the top is not as tapered as the bottom and sides and it is actually there and just not able to be seen.

Moving on though and we have the even less than convincing white iPad bezel. This image is coming out of Shenzhen City and while it looks like it would fit in with what the rumored iPad 2 specs are — front facing camera, we are not all that convinced that Apple is going to roll-out a white iPad. Or at the very least, they will not roll-out a white iPad before a white iPhone.

Either way though, as to what my guesses are, this upcoming event will introduce an iPad 2, however it is not going to be revolutionary and instead the real news will be in the preview of iOS 5 and maybe even tie-ins with OS X. There, I said it, now lets just hope that I am not totally wrong.
