New iPad 2 Coming on March 2 But Who Is Going to Introduce It?

With Steve Jobs On Medical Leave, Who Will Present the iPad 2 to the World?

Tablet fans around the world, and, most importantly, iPad owners looking to upgrade to the next-gen Apple tablet, already know that Apple will hold a special event on March 2 in which we’ll see “what 2011 will be the year of.”

But while Apple has officially sent out invites for the iPad 2 event, we’re yet to find out who will be its host. Who will be the main speaker with Steve Jobs away on medical leave is a question we can’t help but ask especially in light of the recent rumors and news surrounding Apple’s founder and current CEO.

Steve Jobs has officially announced his absence from day-to-day activities, but we’ve also heard time and time again that he’s still very much involved with the development of the iPad 2 and other iOS projects. Despite the rumors we’ve seen in tabloids about the general state of his health, Steve Jobs did attend the meeting with the President, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will be up on stage next Wednesday to introduce the magical iPad 2 to the crowds.

Tim Cook is the most likely Apple executive to present the new iPad on March 2, since, after all, he did go to Verizon’s post-CES media event to launch the CDMA iPhone 4 too. From a different perspective, Apple’s board has chosen not to disclose the strategy behind choosing the successor of Steve Jobs but we can only imagine that the person that would lead such media events as the iPad 2 launch, would also be shortlisted for the position.

Tim Cook did an amazing job for Apple last time when he was left in charge so he could be the right person to fill in Steve Jobs’ shoes. But will he have the same vision of the future as his predecessor? Apple will not stop at making iPhones, MacBooks and iPads, as we move into the next decade of this century.

No matter who will introduce the iPad 2 next Wednesday we’ll surely cover the event live for you and tell you all the ins and outs of the device. Therefore we invite you to bookmark TFTS, follow us on Twitter for more iPad 2 coverage and, while you’re at it, tell us who you’d want to see leading Apple in the future.
