Crytek: No EA Online Pass For Crysis 2
Crytek has announced that they won’t be using EA’s Online Pass with Crysis 2. This means that console players who buy the game used will be able to play online without paying extra money to do so, and players who buy the game new will actually be able to play instead of wasting time entering stupid codes after they pop the disc in the tray for the first time.

Crytek chose to omit the feature from the finished product for two primary reasons: first, because they want to introduce as many console players as possible to the Crysis series, and locking a major part of the game and demanding money because they bought it used isn’t a good way to accomplish that. Second, back when Crytek had to decide whether to include it or leave it out, EA’s Online Pass was still in its experimental phase, and they didn’t wanted Crysis 2 to be one of the games that tested it out.
Crysis 2 will release for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on March 22nd in North America and March 25th in Europe.
