New iPhone 5 to Sport Edge-to-Edge 4-inch Display?
Apple has created so far four different iPhone models, from the original handset to the iPhone 4, and they all look pretty similar although the last model was significantly modified when compared with the previous generations.

But Apple kept offering us the same 3.5-inch display in each iPhone model until now, but more and more rumors suggest that’s about to change. Apple’s iPhone 5 could very well offer a bigger display in order to better compete against the plethora of Android handsets that come with 4-inch or larger touchscreen displays.
It’s pretty interesting to see Apple adapt to the needs of the consumer and match the iPhone competition that’s been getting tougher and tougher over the years. Cupertino’s rivals have started to offer larger and larger touchscreen displays. Phones like the HTC HD2 and its HD7 successor, the HTC EVO 4G and the HTC Desire HD, the Motorola Droid X, the Samsung Galaxy S were among the first to use a 4-inch or larger touchscreen displays. And this year we’re going to have even more such devices, most of them Android handsets, so a 3.5-inch iPhone might not be enough for our mobile needs.
Previous iPhone 5 rumors did say that Apple’s next-gen handset will come with a larger display and today we have pictures to back that rumor up. Naturally Apple won’t confirm the existence of the display in the picture above yet, but we’re looking at a front iPhone glass panel that shows us a larger edge-to-edge display and a smaller bezel.

The iPhone 5 part has been spotted on a Chinese reseller’s website and, besides the larger display we can also spot what seems to be the regular iPhone home button, top speaker and front-facing camera.
We’re still looking at more than four months to go until the iPhone 5 becomes official, and by the time that happens we’ll probably get even more rumors and leaked images of iPhone 5 parts, leaked cases and future specs and features. So stick around as we’re going to show you more details about this upcoming Apple mobile device in the near future. And while we’re at it, let us know whether a 4-inch iPhone would be a better match for you than the current 3.5-inch version.
