Angry Birds Heading To Windows Phone 7 April 6 [Windows Phone 7 Getting Angry Birds This April As Part Of 'Must Have Games' Promotion]

We reported last week that Angry Birds had been confirmed for Windows Phone 7, and now we have a solid release date – Rovio and Microsoft have announced that the game will be released on the platform on April 6th, so WP7 owners will finally get to see what all the fuss is about in just a little over a month.

It would seem that the release of Angry Birds on Windows Phone 7 will kick off Microsoft’s previously mentioned “Must Have Games,” spring promotion. In addition to Angry Birds, the “Must Have Games,” promotion will see the likes of Hydro Thunder Go, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, Doodle Jump, geoDefense, and Plants vs. Zombies released on Windows Phone 7 – all of them with support for Achievements and Leaderboards over Xbox Live.

With all of these recent announcements, this spring is certainly shaping up to be a good time to be a Windows Phone 7 owner.
