Fujitsu Announces Stylistic Q550 Tablet PC

Fujitsu's New Tablet Gets Shown, Priced And Even Release Ranged

For those of you in the market for a new tablet PC who are tired of going without news about Fujitsu, well, you may officially be of good cheer because we’ve got the relatively complete rundown of stats, price, and a release date general location for the new Stylistic Q550 tablet from Fujitsu.

The Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 tablet will be packing a 10.1 inch touch screen display at a 1366 x 768 resolution with an anti-glare coating for added utility. Plus, it’s set to run Windows 7 Pro, as well as pack an Atom processor, two gigs of memory, your choice of a two or four cell battery, both front and rear mounted cameras, a stylus (just in case you’re not the type to go touching a monitor), an as yet unannounced number of USB ports, an HDMI output so you can put your images up on a bigger screen as needed, an audio output, a dock connector for when you’re looking to trade mobility for stability, VESA mounting support, and GPS complete with Gobi 3000.

It sounds like a nice tablet, really–an Atom processor may not be as good as some (especially if you start looking at the dual-core tablets out there) but it’s still got plenty of power, and there’s more than enough memory here, as well as all the necessary ports.

And if you’re looking to go Fujitsu, you’ll be able to start getting your hands on the Stylistic Q550 this spring, assuming you’re looking to shell out the necessary $800 Fujitsu is looking to snag for one of these. Frankly, that strikes me as plenty excessive, especially given that the iPad 2 will be looking to make an appearance before long, and I doubt anyone’s sufficiently ideologically devoted to the Fujitsu brand name that they’ll pass up some major new tablets coming out for likely less cash than the Stylistic Q550′s looking to come out for.

Still though, we’ll find out how that goes when it hits this spring.
