NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 And GTX 550 Ti Coming Soon?
Website vr-zone.com is reporting that they’ve spotted two interesting references in the beta 266.7x beta drivers. Two names seem to be upcoming, unannounced reference graphics card GPUs from NVIDIA. The first is the “GeForce GTX 590″ and the next is the “GeForce GTX 550 Ti”. Are these too good to be true?

Thanks to NVIDIA’s easy naming scheme, we’ll assume that the GeForce GTX 590 is some sort of ultra-high end monster with dual-GPU that needs to draw 600W of power or some such. When rumors for the GTX 580 first hit the web, it was reported that card would be the ultra-high-end monster (remember that NVIDIA was still releasing GTX 400 cards at the time). Could this be that card?
The GTX 550 Ti will probably be another mid-end card for the masses. The GTX 560 Ti just came out, and it’s an impressive card for its price point, and its performance is even more impressive when you put it in SLI – as it scales well. So, you’ve got to imagine that the GTX 550 Ti will be another card – and NVIDIA is still keeping the “Ti” prefix.
Not sure where they get this next bit, but vr-zone.com goes on to say after the news about the mention in the beta drivers that the GTX 590 will have 3GB of VRAM while the GTX 550 Ti will have just 1GB of VRAM. Specs-wise, that’s all they mention.
The source isn’t 100% solid, so take it as you will. However, we’re due for a dual-GPU monster card from NVIDIA. And it makes sense that NVIDIA would release more cards in the mid-/low-end of the market.
