Nomad Capacitive Brush Lets You Paint On Your iPad [Nomad Brush Allows Actual Painting Simulation With A Variety of Capacitive Tips, Simulating Brush Strokes]

Time to get some happy little trees on your iPads, folks–if you’ve been feeling your Bob Ross extra hard lately, then you’ll be just as happy as Bob himself to know that you can finally get a worthwhile painting simulator going on your iPad thanks to the Nomad capacitive brush.

Basically, it’s a paintbrush, just built with a set of capacitive fibers that, in turn, work with a capacitive touchscreen (like the one on your iPad) to simulate brush strokes better than anything has before it. The folks behind the Nomad even went so far as to explain:

“Nomad brush is carefully hand-crafted and made with exceptionally conductive materials. This allows the brush to be extremely responsive, making brushstrokes immediate and effortless on any capacitive touchscreen device.”

Extremely responsive? Sure, I can buy that. It’s a pretty clever idea that I’m somewhat surprised no one has tried before now. And as if that weren’t enough, it’s kicking off a whole new art form that’s even getting some exhibition space in Parisian galleries–the concept of iPad as both canvas and frame.

And here’s the best part for all you artists out there–the Nomad brush costs just $24 each, meaning even starving artists can find room for one of these in their budgets, not to mention the fact that you’ll never need to buy paint thinner and such again.

You might, however, need more printer cartridges, though this in turn might well kick off a whole new era of art as cottage industry–make your landscapes on your iPad, print them off and frame them, or go the extra mile, charge $700 or so a painting and sell them with a free iPad. Or even sell your paintings as digital files, useful as wallpaper. Options abound for the creative, and hopefully the Nomad brush can help.
