GAEMS G155 All In One Gaming Suitcase Takes PS3 and Xbox 360 On The Road [An Advancement From Earlier Installments, the New GAEMS G155 Is More Self-Contained Than Before]
It’s not easy, leaving your games at home when you go on the road. Sure, advances in gaming have given us some pretty nice mobile titles, but sometimes you want something a little more substantial. Nothing is quite as heartbreaking to a gamer as having to break off a great run of some game to go off for a while, and that’s the kind of thing the GAEMS G155 will seek to fix.
We talked about an earlier model of GAEMS suitcase here back in June, but this one is a significant improvement. While the screen size has only been upped about a half an inch over the one we talked about earlier, but this one will also pack an HDMI port to let you use bigger screens when they’re available, as well as stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It’s also got a fitted foam base to ensure proper insulation (and reduce the chance of getting red-ringed, right Xbox fans?) and is geared to accommodate either a slim PS3 or an Xbox 360 with its attendant gear. The whole package weighs a whopping ten pounds, and from the look of it, that’s before you slip in the game system.
Previous models couldn’t store controllers, so there was talk of a separate controller bag. Though this time, there’s no mention of separate controller bags, so it becomes entirely possible that they’ve fixed that problem and the whole thing is now self-contained. Indeed, since the screen is slightly larger than the earlier model (half an inch, but still), the possibility is wide open.
And if you want one of these, which will basically give you everything you need to both game and even watch movies (use a PS3 in there and you get a portable Blu-ray player out of the deal, which is even better), you’ll have to shell out a pretty healthy $300, which won’t leave you a whole lot of room for games. But still, you’ll be able to take the few games you can afford on the road with you, and the GAEMS G155 should let you do it in style.
