Verizon Updates V CAST Music App For Android

Latest V CAST Music For Android App Brings Full Song, Ringtones & Ringback Tones For Those Running Android 2.1 or Later

Verizon has rolled out what appears to be a fairly nice update to their V CAST Music app. As for this latest update, it was noted that it “brings full-track songs, ringtones and ringback tones together in one easy-to-use application” for the first time.

That said, the app is now at version 03.72.103, measures in at 7.5MB and requires Android 2.1 or later.

“Verizon Wireless is taking a leap forward with V CAST Music.  We’re bringing the different kinds of music people love to have on their phones together in one, easy-to-use application, making it easy for customers to get what they want at lower prices,” said Greg Haller, vice president, Consumer Solutions for Verizon Wireless.  ”We’ve added features to V CAST Music that make it simple and more fun to enjoy your favorite music on your phone and with your friends and family.”

The music tracks, which come as DRM free MP3′s are priced at either $0.69, $0.99 or $1.29 per song. Furthermore, the tracks are downloaded directly to your smartphone, however they can then be transferred to a computer or other device for listening, storing or backing up.

And in addition to downloading your favorite song as a music track, you will also be able to download it as a bundle. The bundles include the MP3 version as well as a ringtone and ringback version. Other features of the V CAST Music app include being able to add tracks to your wish list for future purchases as well as clicking the recommendation button to make suggestions to friends or family.

The V CAST Music app remains available as a free download with the purchases being billed to your Verizon account.

All said and done, this seems like a decent alternative to consider when looking for music, though we would much rather use Amazon MP3. Of course, if you are looking to purchase ringtone and/or ringback tracks this may be the go to place.
