Toyota Selling Home Electric Chargers In 2012

Toyota Will Begin Catering To Home Electric Car Chargers Next Year]

While Toyota has already taken some real steps in the hybrid vehicles as well as plug-in electric cars, the company is now looking to make strides in another part of the green technology field. Toyota announced that starting in 2012 the company will start selling electric car chargers for the home.

Toyota says they will be selling two different kinds of chargers and will also be available for cars that are not Toyota cars and will come as either a kind of charger that would extend from the exterior of the wall and the other would basically be a standalone that works out of the garage. The company expects to sell 20,000 to 30,000 units in the first year when they hit the market. The chargers are expected to cost around $2,400 per charger and that also includes any installation costs that come along with the charger.
