Sprint Begins Teasing About Upcoming Phone Announcement [Sprint Will Announce New Phone On February 24th, Will It Be Android, Windows Phone 7 Or Something Else?]

Sprint has taken to Twitter and begun teasing of an upcoming announcement, though at this time the details are still non-existent for the most part. Of course, as a result of the last announcement, the one with David Blaine and the Kyocera Echo our expectations are not all that high.

Needless to say, we are going to be paying attention, and hoping they redeem themselves after the novelty like Echo was announced. Anyway, according to the details that we have read so far;

“What do you think the next new Sprint phone will be? Find out Thursday!”

And that just about sums it up, Sprint will be announcing a new phone later this week. Of course, there is always the fun in speculating and guessing just a bit.

With that, there is the possibility that it will be something Android flavored. Granted, that is most likely the safe guess considering Sprint has already promised a big Android push for 2011. Moving past Android for a moment though, and we may see something in terms of Windows Phone 7. After all, we are getting to the rough timeline of when we were expecting to see the HTC 7 Pro.

Of course, they could always throw us all for a loop and announce something that is neither Android or Windows Phone 7. Though truth be told I am fairly certain it will not be the iPhone and could not see them making a big deal over a new BlackBerry at this point. But in the end, if we were in a situation where we had to put some money down in exchange for a guess, we would have to go with Windows Phone 7.

Anyway, while we wait until Thursday, let us recap the specs of the HTC 7 Pro. That handset features a 3.6 inch (480 x 800) capacitive multi-touch display, 1GHz processor, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headphone jack, 1500 mAh battery, microUSB, 16GB of onboard storage, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, LED flash and 720p HD video recording and QWERTY keyboard.
