Toshiba Android Tablet to be Named Antares?
CES and MWC brought us a lot of gadgets, and some of those had been unnamed prototypes. Since tablets are one of our favorite devices, we’ve been on the lookout for models from various manufacturers, such as Toshiba. It seems Toshiba’s yet-to-be-named tablet might already have a name when launched.

Sources reveal that Toshiba’s upcoming 10-inch Android tablet might be named “Antares.” If you check out the About area in your Android smartphone or tablet settings, you will find the phone/tablet’s model name. However, since the Toshiba Android tablets recently reviewed were still prototypes, the “Antares” name might still change. Or, it could be a prototype number of sorts.
Whatever the case, the Toshiba 10-inch tablet surely has decent specs, with an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 5-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth, WiFi and an SD card slot. among others.
Toshiba says the Antares will run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb, although the demo units reviewed at MWC were running on 2.2 FroYo.
