Android Market URLs Suggest New Services [Google Ready to Compete With Other Major App & Media Stores With Android Market Music, Books & Movies?]
We’ve previously read and reported about Google getting ready to compete with other major media providers through Android Market. New URLs suggest that Google is getting ready to load up Android Market with new content.

Check out https://market.android.com/books, https://market.android.com/music/, https://market.android.com/apps/, and https://market.android.com/movies and you will be redirected to the Android Market main page. But that’s probably enough to speculate that Google is already reserving these directories for future use, since just any other random subdirectory will result in a “not found” error.
These will probably mean that Google will start selling books, songs and movies alongside applications for a host of Android smartphones and tablets.
Now the question here is whether the media to be sold will be tied up with other Google services, such as YouTube (for video). Whatever the case, the important thing would be that Google is aware of the need for a viable means to distribute content to Android handsets. This will be yet another big potential source of revenue for both Google and content creators.
