PS3 Version Of Portal 2 Will Support Move

Valve Announces PS3 Version Of Portal 2 Will Have Move Functionality As An Apology For PS3 Owners Getting The Shaft With Past Valve Titles

It may well be blasphemy to say so, but it would seem that for the first time in history the console version of a Valve game might be better than the PC version. I know it might be hard for PC players who have been with Valve since the beginning to swallow, but the PS3 version of Portal 2 looks like the one to go with if the option is available, as Valve recently announced that Portal 2 will have complete Move functionality.

This comes after the announcement that the PS3 version of Portal 2 will come with a free Steam version, which only sweetens the deal for those torn between which platform to choose to satisfy their teleporting jollies. Apparently Valve is being so nice to PS3 owners as an apology for not getting Left 4 Dead – something that definitely didn’t sit well with them at the time.

Valve also reassured those worried that the console version of Portal 2 might not be as good as its PC counterpart, as was the case with Team Fortress 2 in the Orange Box. They state the fact that past console ports were done by a different team, saying that while they were good, players aren’t going to see the same kind of issues with Portal 2 because Valve has taken full control of all three versions.

Valve says that since this is their first time working with Move, it isn’t fully integrated yet. Look for Portal 2 to release for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on April 18.
