Double Fine Currently Working On Sesame Street Kinect Title

Double Fine Developing Once Upon A Monster For Kinect, Could This Be Double Fine's First Mega-Hit?

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that a Sesame Street game for Kinect, titled Once Upon A Monster, is in development by none other than Double Fine Productions. This is great for both kids and parents, as it gives kids a Kinect game based around perhaps the most famous children’s show out there, and since it’s being developed by Double Fine, it gives parents a game to play with their kids that likely won’t suck.

The game, apparently, will feature Cookie Monster and Elmo along with other monsters, and will play like an “living storybook.” A Sesame Street title could potentially introduce Double Fine to mainstream success for the first time – games like Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, and even the more recent Stacking have fared well with the critics, but have never experienced huge financial success.

However much this game sells, one thing is for sure: Double Fine is a very creative studio and they are the masters of storytelling, so pairing them with Sesame Street seems like a match made in heaven (at least for children).
