Torchlight 2 Release Delayed Until July

Hot on the heels of Major Nelson’s announcement that the XBLA version of Torchlight will be releasing on March 9th, Runic has delayed the release of Torchlight 2 on PC. While Runic never set a specific release date for Torchlight 2, instead saying that it would be out sometime in May or June, they’re pushed back the release to sometime in July.

Runic CEO Max Schaefer told Digital Spy that work on the XBLA version of Torchlight is the reason Torchlight 2 will miss its original release window. “I’d say that the Xbox project, having to do the extra work with the interface, has pushed us back a little bit, so we’re probably talking July right now for Torchlight II.”

Schaefer also said, however, that development of Torchlight 2 was “going great,” and that they were able to integrate features from Torchlight XBLA into Torchlight 2: “We’ve got load times down, we’ve got some animation stuff that’s a little bit better, and it’s feeling really good right now.”
