HTC Thunderbolt Release Date Postponed; No Mobile Hotspot Feature Either Says Leaked Verizon Document

Verizon Postpones the Launch of the HTC Thunderbolt & Says Mobile Hotspot Might Not be Available on Launch; Let the Furious Mobs Gather

If I were to buy the HTC Thunderbolt I’d be pretty pissed off right now when I’d tell myself that Verizon is said, again for that matter, to have postponed the launch of the HTC Thunderbolt. Moreover, the phone is, yet again, rumored not to feature Mobile Hotspot at launch, which could also be a pretty annoying thing for early buyers.

The news come from a leaked Verizon document available below which talks about the iPhone 4, the Motorola Xoom, and the HTC Thunderbolt.

It looks like the “launch from 2/14 has been delayed” and that there’s “no ETA at this time.” As for the 4G Mobile Hotspot, well, “launch from 2/17 has been delayed” and there’s also “no ETA at this time” for it either.

Verizon is really interested in making the most of the iPhone 4, if this leak is for real, otherwise why postpone one of the greatest Android handsets (at least on paper) from hitting stores. If you ask me, no matter if a customer chooses the HTC Thunderbolt or the Verizon iPhone 4, the winner is, naturally, Verizon. The carrier gets to lock that subscriber in for another two years which is not a bad move.

Is there anything wrong with the Thunderbolt to postpone it? No rumors of leaks indicate that. Well, apart for that 4G Mobile Hotspot feature which, for some reason, is apparently not going to be available at launch, just as indicated by previous report.

Naturally we’re looking forward for Verizon’s denial, and, since we did talk about Best Buy and Amazon before, two retailers that will sell the Thunderbolt starting with February 14, we can’t wait to hear from them too. We’ll be monitoring closely this HTC Thunderbolt situation so stay close, get our feed and jot down our Twitter accounts for future reference.

I am pretty annoyed with Verizon playing games the way they are. Went to Best Buy but no guarantee if I pre-order. Since I have a Sprint and verizon acct, I think I will opt for the HTC Sprint 4g phone and be done with it. With my 10% AAA discount with Sprint, the 4G services turns out to be cheaper than Verizon anyway

    3. jordan says:

i think they should release the thunderbolt and worry bout the hotspot while the phone is being released
