Office 2010 Helps Bring Microsoft Record Quarter
Microsoft just enjoyed a record quarter and the company says that one of main reasons for that is the release of Microsoft Office 2010. Peter Klein, Microsoft’s CFO says “”Office 2010 is the most successful consumer version we have ever shipped, and the product is also performing extremely well in the business segment.”

The division of Microsoft that is in charge of Office raked in a whopping $6.03 billion in the first quarter of 2010, which is a huge 24 percent over the same period in the previous year. The Microsoft business division, thanks in large part to Office 2010, accounted for 30 percent of the total revenue Microsoft raked in, which was a five percent jump from the previous year.
Microsoft officials have acknowledged that even they were a bit surprised by the level of sales Office 2010 managed. These shocking sales numbers are because Office 2010 is currently the fastest selling office product in the company’s history, currently outselling Office 2007 at a 50 percent faster pace.
