Sarien Sierra Adventure Game Portal Is Back After Activision C&D [Activision Allows Adventure Game Portal Sarien Back Online]
Activision’s intrepid quest for good press might be not at an end, because that would be premature, but it will at least be seeing a recess.Yes, it seems that the publisher’s usual cease & desist antics with regard to misuse of its trademarks and, as is the case here, facilitating access to some of the games the publisher has rights to used to mean a swift C&D upside the head, followed by compliance and the end of the issue.

For the second time in recent days, Activision has shown an uncharacteristic degree of leniency both to the World Of Starcraft modder and now to the guy behind Sarien.net, a portal offering access to old Sierra adventure games like Police Quest. Don’t get me wrong, the C&D upside the head is still pretty much standard policy, but Activision have allowed the site back online with the condition that iPad access to the games is removed as well as all links to the games replaced to limited versions that only allow you to play the first chapter. Activision can apparently be reasonable at times, who knew?
