Namco Say Enslaved Made Them Proud, Despite Abysmal Sales
The main thing Enslaved had going for it was the prowess of its voice actors, actors like Andy Serkis, or Gollum to you and me. And while it leveraged that beautifully, the *ahem* borrowed overarching narrative just wasn’t that interesting, and probably most unforgiving of all, the gameplay quickly devolved into the one button mambo whether you were fighting or climbing, which why it was discounted within an inch of its life a few weeks after release.

“It didn’t perform as well as we hoped it would, but we’re very proud of how it was received by both the media and the gamers who have experienced it,” said Marketing Director Lee Kirton. “I can’t discuss where we are in terms of a sequel, but we’re looking at reviews and feedback from the press and because of the gameplay and quality that Enslaved delivered, we see it as a great catalogue title going forward.” I say go for it, Namco, the only thing you have to fear is fear itself. That, and losing vast amounts of money, but mostly the fear thing.
