Kinect 1:1 Movement Hack Shows Off Some Intriguing Possibilities

Kinect 1:1 Movement Hack May Bring Mannerisms To Games

Yes, Microsoft have announced that there’s a Kinect SDK for PC coming and you’d think that would slow Kinect hackers down a bit, but no dice. But although the world is pretty much fed up with Kinect hacks but there’s just something about this video that just fires up your imagination as to the Kinect’s possibilities. Possibilities that nobody is exploiting at the moment, or at least not publically or commercially.

So keep in mind while watching that while you may only be seeing a basic figure waddling along for now, that figure may very well do things in the future so similarly to the way you do them it could be nothing short of eerie. Perhaps I’m reading too much into this. Or perhaps it’s all the Kinect’s wasted potential that triggered all this wishful thinking, but just imagine a Mass Effect game where you could trigger new dialog options by reaching out and stroking a character’s cheek in exactly the same way you would in real life.
