Bayonetta Dev Platinum Games' New Project Is Called Anarchy Reigns

Platinum's Max Anarchy Is Now Anarchy Reigns, Bears Close Bayonetta Resemblance

Bayonetta received almost universal acclaim when it was released, especially as the title that managed what very few if any games had done before: depict a sexy, powerful and independent female character with style and confidence. It’s safe to say Platinum are trying a completely different tack now, with their new project, the game formerly known as Max Anarchy. Its new name isn’t all that different though.

They kept the anarchy thing, since it pretty much lined up with the whole online brawler genre they’re going for, but just added some pizazz to it. A definite improvement, as are the two new game modes announced, Tag Team and Battle Royal, though I’m not quite sure how the wrestling tint is supposed to fit in with a distinctly un-wrestling seeming game. The character design certainly seems Bayonettish in the extreme, so Platinum fans will be well catered to, but then again when aren’t they?
