Verizon iPhone 4 February 3 Pre-order Date Confirmed by Big Red [Verizon to Start Selling the CDMA iPhone 4 on February 3 at 3AM EST, Just as We Told You Before]

A few days ago we told you that the Verizon iPhone 4 will be available on February 3, starting with 3AM EST, to Verizon customers and it looks like Verizon has gone ahead and confirmed that early pre-order date.

So if you’re a Verizon customer that has waited and waited for the iPhone to arrive without really considering to AT&T then mark this particular date and time in your calendar and get your cash ready. The early pre-order will be available only to existing customers, so if you’re planning to leave AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile to get an iPhone then you should wait for the in-store launch date, which is still February 10.

Verizon has gone ahead and turned on an official iPhone 4 pre-order countdown timer, so everything is about as official as it can get.

But should you really buy the Verizon iPhone 4 right away? There are plenty of reasons not to do so, although some may say they waited enough time for the CDMA iPhone to finally arrive.

The main reason against a hasty iPhone 4 purchase is that in four months Apple will launch the iPhone 5, with both AT&T and Verizon, and if you get the iPhone 4 now with a new two-year contract then you won’t be able to qualify for an iPhone 5 purchase unless Verizon will decide in June or July to make some sort of exception for you.

But that’s not the only reason for not getting an iPhone 4 from Verizon right now, especially if you’re attracted to the 4G LTE promise. Handsets capable of 4G LTE speeds are coming in February to Big Red too, the HTC Thunderbolt being the most impressive of the lot, so you could be waiting for that smartphone instead of pursuing your iPhone dream.
