Redsn0w 0.9.7 Untether iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak for Windows Coming Soon [iPhone Dev Team to Offer Windows Redsn0w 0.9.7 (Monte) iPhone, iPad & iPod touch Jailbreak Version Soon; Slowness Ensured]
While iOS 4.2.1 has already been jailbroken, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad customers aren’t simply happy with a tethered jailbreak and can’t wait for the iPhone Dev Team to finally release Redsn0w 0.9.7 Monte that will bring that much expected untethered jailbreak to all iOS 4.2.1 devices.

A few days ago we told you that this new jailbreak update will rely on iOS 4.1 files to produce the untethered jailbreak but we still don’t have an official Redsn0w Monte client yet for Mac or any other computer OS.
But it looks like the iPhone Dev Team will also have to offer a Windows Redsn0w 0.9.7 client and they have confirmed this fact via Twitter already:
Since Apple still serves the 4.1 IPSW (not blobs!), we’ll do a Windows redsn0w release for untethered 4.2.1 via Monte-4.1
Please don’t complain too loudly about how slow it takes The Win version uses filesystem instead of RAM: slow!
Since there are so many Windows-based systems out there that are or will be used to jailbreak iPhones, iPads or iPod touches, I think a Windows Redsn0w updated client is going to be very appreciated by iOS device users no matter how long it’ll take to deal with the whole jailbreak procedure.
Unfortunately we still can’t offer you release dates for this Redsn0w 0.9.7 Monte jailbreak technique as the iPhone Dev Team is yet to share them with the world. We keep getting questions from our readers that are anxiously waiting for the untethered jailbreak but all we can advise you at this time is to sit tight and wait, as Monte will be out soon.
As for the iPhone 4 with new basebands Ultrasn0w unlock, well, there’s no update on it just yet either, so stick around, folks, subscribe to our feed and follow us on Twitter for more iOS 4.2.1 (and not only) jailbreak and unlock news!
