New HTC Thunderbolt Evidence Shows Best Buy February 14 Release Date [Best Buy Reveals Launch Date for the HTC Thunderbolt 4G LTE Android Handset; Verizon Still Busy With the iPhone 4]

While Verizon is busy advertising it’s CDMA iPhone 4, its partner retailers are focusing on a different device, but one that has gotten a lot of attention from the press and seems to be the leader of the 4G LTE Android hanset pack: the HTC Thunderbolt.

We’ve seen various rumors regarding the HTC Thunderbolt’s release date and although everyone is expecting the phone to be unveiled in February not everyone can agree on the launch date.

Today however we learn that Best Buy, apparently the exclusive HTC Thunderbolt retailer (not counting Big Red, of course) has the Thunderbolt listed in its own inventory with a February 14 release date. The news comes from Android Central and this final release date seems to have been discovered after following a whole trail of evidence that points to it.

Here’s the short history of it: Best Buy is listing a BBY60LD model with a Valentine’s Day release date and sporting a 044476816574 number on it. Now it looks like that number has been spotted in a hands-on video of the Thunderbolt which was probably made by someone at HTC and then posted on YouTube only to be pulled later on. It’s pretty clear then that, hard as they might try to conceal it, Best Buy is getting ready for the HTC Thunderbolt release.

Having the HTC Thunderbolt out on Valentine’s Day 2011 would be a great move from Best Buy, but will we see the phone in Verizon stores as soon after the Verizon iPhone 4 gets out? After all Big Red will probably launch it before Best Buy and, thus, before February 14.

We’ll be on the lookout for more HTC Thunderbolt release dates information, so stick around, subscribe to our feed and follow us on Twitter for more such details.
