Microsoft Won't Rule Out Office For Mac App Store
While Microsoft is not yet offering its flagship program in Office in the Mac app store yet, the company has said it will not rule out doing so in the future. Amanda Lefebvre of Microsoft says that doing so is actually something the company is looking at, “It’s something we haven’t ruled out. We just have to see how that relates to our business.”

Of course Microsoft already offers a version of Office to Mac users and it seems as though offering a product through the Mac App store only makes sense. One of the reasons it isn’t available yet may be that the Mac App store is really only a month old and Microsoft may wait to see just how well the new app store does before they throw their lot in.
Another factor that may be making Microsoft hesitate is that currently they only offer programs like Word, Excel and PowerPoint as a package deal, going through the Mac App store may make it necessary to split the programs up and sell them individually.
