LG Optimus One Arriving On Virgin Mobile US As LG Optimus V [LG's Mid-End Android Smartphone Arrives On Another Carrier Under Another Name, Price Set At $150]

We’ve seen the LG Optimus One introduced all over the world, sometimes with different names, wherever a carrier needs a new mid-end Android phone. Our own Catalin reviewed the phone on Three’s network in the UK and liked it. If you’re an American looking for an Android smartphone on Virgin Mobile US, check out the LG Optimus V, which is the re-badged LG Optimus One.

Virgin Mobile is of course, owned by Sprint. I know a few commentators on our site have expected Sprint to let Virgin Mobile get their top two Android phones, namely the HTC EVO 4G and the HTC EVO Shift 4G, but I’d give those a near-nl chance of coming to Virgin Mobile anytime soon. If you’re an Android fanatic looking for a prepaid smartphone, you’re instead getting the LG Optimus V, which a lot of people like.

Here are the specs on the Optimus V:

  • 600MHz CPU
  • 512MB RAM
  • 2GB microSD card preinstalled
  • Android 2.2 “Froyo”
  • 3.2-inch screen
  • 3.2MP camera

As mentioned, the phone will be sold by Virgin Mobile for $150, which isn’t bad price for a contract-free Android smartphone on a prepaid network, considering similar phones are going for $250 on other network. This phone has yet to be added to Virgin Mobile’s website, but after rumors of the phone coming to Virgin Mobile came up, a Virgin Mobile PR rep confirmed that the phone is coming via Facebook.

Anybody planning on picking up the LG Optimus V?
