Epic Says Sony NGP & Gears Of War Match Made In Heaven

Do you see, Sony? You could have had this five years ago. Well, not five, but quite a few years ago. All it took was for you to announce a portable with a second analog stick. Sure, the hernia-inducing visuals that the ridiculous amount of horsepower the NGP hardware can produce is probably what has hardcore game makers wetting their lips and analysts casting about in confusion. But the really exciting part is below.

“This is the kind of machine that a Gears of War-style experience would be appropriate on because it has the control layout that games like that are designed for and can produce some pretty compelling visuals,” said Epic Vice President Mark Rein. “Activision announced Call of Duty for the device so of course a Gears-style game would also be appropriate,” he went on. The last time the guys at Epic got excited over new hardware, the world got Infinite Blade, so come on December.
