Blizzard Going After World Of Warcraft Gold Sellers Again, PayPal Agrees To Help
Blizzard is trying a new tactic in its continuing crusade against the exchange of real money for imaginary money and vice-versa in its impossibly popular MMO World Of Warcraft. It’s enlisting allies, starting with PayPal, which will be blocking gold trader’s accounts, as named by Blizzard. I’m not exactly sure what PayPal’s incentive is to help Blizzard in this scenario, but that’s pretty much the way things are going down.

“If you feel your sales do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of the Reporting Party, please complete the attached Objection to Infringement Report by January 21, 2011. Should you choose not to object to the report, you will be required to remove all World of Warcraft Merchandise from the website [url removed] in order to comply with the Acceptable Use Policy,” is the letter PayPal sent out in lieu of a C&D.
