Verizon Updates iPhone 4 FAQ Page, Removes Parts That Deal With No Early Upgrades For Current Customers [Is Verizon Having A Change Of Heart On Early iPhone 4 Upgrades, Or Just Removing The Already Known To Save Space]

The Verizon iPhone has officially been announced and since then we have been learning the remaining details little by little. And at this point it seems just a matter of waiting until February 3rd for those looking to pre-order or until February 10th for those looking to buy and take home on the same day.

But just to recap, we learned the calling plans would be the same as the rest of the Verizon plans and that the data would be unlimited and $30 per month. Furthermore, Verizon confirmed that the Mobile Hotspot plan would come at $20 per month and include 2GB of data. And while we knew the on-contract pricing would be $199 and $299 for the 16GB and 32GB model respectively, we later learned that the off-contract pricing would be $50 more expensive than with AT&T.

But that aside, while these changes have come from various sources, Verizon has also been slightly tweaking their iPhone 4 FAQ page. For example, back on January 18th they slipped in the fact that those who recently upgraded would be eligible to get up to a $200 credit in the form of a Visa Debit card to use towards an iPhone purchase.

More interestingly though, and keep in mind this is probably nothing more than speculation and hope on my end, but Verizon has also removed a few key question and answers that I wrote about back on January 11th — the part about being able to upgrade early and at the on-contract pricing.

And just for a brief refresher, those questions read as follows;

Will Verizon Wireless be offering an early upgrade promotion?

No, Verizon Wireless is not offering any early upgrade promotion at this time.

and

Can I upgrade to an iPhone even though I am not eligible to upgrade?

If you are not eligible to upgrade, you cannot upgrade at promotional pricing today, but you can pay full retail price and upgrade your phone if you would like to.

Well, flash forward till today and they are no longer listed. Of course, like I said, this is most likely not changing, but the removal does bring that slight bit of hope back. Then again that is probably just the wishful thinking considering I have already decided to go forward with an iPhone 4 despite not being eligible, but instead of paying full price, I am just adding another line and that means another $40 per month ($10 extra line and $30 data plan).
