Motorola Atrix 4G Ad Reminds Us We’re Looking at “The World’s Most Powerful Smartphone” [Motorola Teases With New Atrix 4G Video, Shows Specs, Features & Docks]
Just earlier I told you the three most interesting handsets of the beginning of the year are the Verizon iPhone 4, the HTC Thunderbolt and the Atrix 4G, when it comes to the media coverage they excite, so now we’re going to take a look at a new ad made by Motorola and showing the “world’s most powerful smartphone,” the Atrix 4G.

Motorola is showing some of the most important specs and features of the Atrix 4G in a brief 2-minute video. We’re being reminded that we’re looking at the first smartphone with a dual-core processor, although, technically, it’s LG that announced the Optimus 2X with such a processor first.
Moving on we have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on board storage upgradeable to 48GB via microSD slot, HD recording, Flash support, “better gaming experience,” “world’s first qHD” touchscreen display and, last, but not least, the two docks that really make this smartphone special, the Laptop Dock and the HD Multimedia Dock.
What’s pretty interesting is that the ad doesn’t really mention 4G capabilities, not even fake-4G aka HSPA+ support although it does say that the Atrix will offer “up to 2x faster web browsing.” The Atrix will hit other markets too, and by that we mean non-US markets where 4G hasn’t been invented yet, so maybe that’s why Moto refrained from mentioning 4G in this presentation. Another missing feature is Android 2.3 Gingerbread, as Motorola doesn’t say anything about it at all in the video below.
The video doesn’t really cover pricing details and launch dates either, and the most current information we have for you is that the Atrix 4G will sell for $149.99 with new two-year AT&T contracts from Amazon or for $599.99 off contract. The Laptop Dock will cost $150, according to previous leaks and we have no pricing details for the HD Multimedia Dock. As for launch details we hear the Atrix will hit AT&T stores at some point around Valentine’s Day, just in time to fight the CDMA iPhone 4. Anyone excited about the Atrix 4G yet?
