Michael Pachter Says Sony Needs To Cut Price On PS3 Move Bundles
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter has made another prediction about the gaming market, but unlike some of his previous ones, this seems like a prediction most gamers would be willing to get behind. Pachter says that in order for Sony’s Move peripheral to compete with the Wii in 2011, Sony need to cut the price on PS3 and Move bundles.

Pachter cites Microsoft’s $299 price for 360 Arcade and Kinect bundles as a good starting point. He also stated that because of this attractive price point, he views the Kinect as a “legitimate substitute,” to the Wii.
“Sony will likely have to lower the price of its PS3 bundle next year in order to take significant share from Nintendo, and we don’t expect that to occur until mid-year at the earliest,” Pachter said. “Once Microsoft and Sony cut prices, we think that Nintendo will have little choice but to do the same, further pressuring revenues and margins.”
