HTC Inspire 4G to Cost $99.99 on Contract; $499.99 Off Contract? [HTC Inspire 4G Appears on Amazon Too; Release Date Said to be February 13]
“Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me” goes the saying and considering that we’ve just seen the Motorola Atrix 4G posted up on Amazon before its time and questioned the information offered by the retailer, we won’t question it again now that we see the HTC Inspire 4G also up on Amazon.

Amazon must be aware of AT&T launch intentions for some of its upcoming Android 4G smartphones such as the Atrix from Motorola or the Inspire from HTC, and the company should also be aware of pricing details for the too devices. Why else would it prepare sales pages for the handsets?
The HTC Inspire 4G was launched at CES 2011 and, while not as present in the media ever since, it’s still going to be a dependable Android phone. Think of it like AT&T’s HTC Desire HD / EVO 4G / Thunderbolt alternative.
The HTC Inspire 4Gwill start selling on February 13, if rumors are to be believed, and it will cost you $99.99 when bundled with a new two-year contract from AT&T or $499.99 off contract. The HTC Inspire 4G is a lot cheaper than the Atrix 4G, but then again, we all know that Verizon will not only have the iPhone 4 in stores soon but also a bunch of 4G LTE Android devices.
If all these dates and prices turn out to be true, then it looks like AT&T is clearly on the offense/defense, depending on how you look at it, in countering the effects of the CDMA iPhone 4, mainly, but also getting ready to fight the new 4G LTE Android handsets from Big Red. And what better way to do that than to offer some very hot Android handsets for cheaper prices than expected. Back at CES, AT&T announced these smartphones right before Verizon dazzled the public with its 4G LTE lineup and they made quite an effect, even if just temporary. At the time we would have expected any of them to be priced at $199.99 with new contracts, but it looks like AT&T is willing to drop the bar. Or, if AT&T won’t do it, at least, Amazon will offer some heavy discounts on the Desire 4G and the Atrix 4G.
We’ll be back with more pricing details and release dates once HTC makes the Inspire 4G official, so stick around!
