HP's February 9th webOS Announcement Will Conclude With New Products Shipping "Weeks Later"
HP CEO Leo Apotheker recently sat down for an interview with BBC News and offered up some rather interesting and exciting comments. It seems they chatted about everything from how soon new products will be released after they are announced to HP becoming a cool company. In fact, he talks about being cooler than Apple.

First things first though, in terms of those new products — he did make specific mention to the upcoming webOS announcement, the one that is scheduled to take place on February 9th. The good news here is that those newly announced products will go on sale “a few weeks later.” In other words, depending on your definition of a “few” we could be seeing something webOS flavored coming available in late February or early March.
The reasoning behind this is to stay current with the buzz, according to Apotheker;
“HP will stop making announcements for stuff it doesn’t have. When HP makes announcements, it will be getting ready to ship,”
And is seems that the February 9th announcement is only going to be a first event with another coming on March 14th. As to what is going to happen in March, that is when we are going to learn the “secret answer” and “vision of what HP is capable of in the future… the starting point”.
Sounds slightly interesting and perhaps it has something to do with HP becoming a cool company, which was another topic discussed in the interview.
“I hope one day people will say ‘this is as cool as HP’, not ‘as cool as Apple’,” says Mr Apotheker.
Of course, when questioned about having cool products he showed off webOS on the Pre and stated that “this is pretty cool” and that webOS is the “only phone that can truly multi-task.” Now keep in mind, I like (and use) webOS on a Pre Plus, but even I have to hope he has more in his bag of tricks if he wants to truly make HP cooler than Apple.
