Speck CandyShell Wrap Case For iPad Unveiled
In terms of cases that are available for the iPad — there is no shortage. But with that I would think it is safe to say that any iPad user will most likely have their favorite, whether it be a particular model, style or manufacturer. Myself, I am partial to Speck, both for the iPhone but also for my iPad. That said, Speck has recently announced a new addition to their growing collection — the CandyShell Wrap.

First things first, the CandyShell Wrap is now yet available for purchase. However once available it will be priced at $59.99 and be black on black in color. Or more specifically, it will be “DarkLord Black.”
Moving on though, those familiar with the CandyShell line will likely appreciate this model. For one it retains the glossy hard shell exterior and rubberized interior lining but it also adds in a front flap that offers screen protection and more. But more than just offering screen protection when your iPad is not in use, the flap actually folds in half so it can be used as a stand for typing or watching video.

Otherwise, similar to the other CandyShell cases for the iPad, you will find a flip back cover that provides access to the dock connector as well as an opening for the speaker and headphone jack. The power button and volume controls are covered but still easy to manipulate (based on use of the original CandyShell iPad cases).
The CandyShell Wrap case weighs in at 14.8 ounces and should be able to offer a decent amount of protection against bumps. At present there is not any mention as to when this will begin shipping or when it will be available in other colors. And speaking personally, I can say that the CandyShell cases do hold up over time, though I am using the regular CandyShell iPad case and not any early release of the Wrap.
