Franck Muller iPhone 4 Case Costs $1,270
Luxury items are often goods that have baffled economists, in that they don’t usually follow the usual supply-and-demand argument. The more expensive a luxury item is, the more desirable it is to consumers–at least those who can afford it. Take for instance the Franck Muller iPhone 4 case.

Franck Muller is a well-known Swiss watchmaker, which gives particular focus to modern-design mechanical timepieces. The sight of Franck Muller watches will usually give any true watch aficionados reason to drool. This iPhone 4 case might be another example.
Sold as a limited edition in Japan, these iPhone 4 cases feature stylized numerals across its body, and comes in different colors. SoftBank, the iPhone’s exclusive carrier in Japan, will sell the Franck Muller cases in six different styles, which will retail for an equivalent of $1,270 each. A total of 500 units of each style will be produced.
Still, even with the $1,270 price tag, this is a bargain compared to the Stuart Hughes case made from meteor rock and dinosaur bone, which costs something in the vicinity of $53,000 or the gold-and-diamond encrusted case that costs $ 8 million.
