Verizon Confirms iPhone 4 Data Plan Will Be $30 Per Month & Unlimited
Coming by way of Verizon COO Lowel McAdam we now have confirmation for the data plan that will be available once the iPhone 4 comes available. And while this one almost seemed like a given considering Verizon has not said anything otherwise in the lead up, the confirmation is still nice to see.

That said, in short — the data will be unlimited and cost $30 per month. And interestingly enough, it seems some thought was put into the fact that AT&T recently began limited their data plans (iPhone included) to 2GB per month.
When speaking in regards to the unlimited data option for the iPhone 4, Lowel McAdam stated;
āIām not going to shoot myself in the foot,ā
Going on to further comment that by not offering the iPhone with an unlimited data plan would limit any potential customers that may want to switch over from AT&T. After all, if they are considering a switch, while some may be switching because of network quality (or for some lack thereof) it seems to go without saying that by also offering unlimited data would only make the decision to switch that much easier.
Of course, on the subject of AT&T and their new limits in term of smartphone data, we should point out that many of the iPhone 4 customers signed up for their service plan before the new limits went into effect and at least for now they are grandfathered in at the unlimited level.
Either way, it should be interesting to see just how many AT&T customers put their money where their mouth is and switch over as they have threatened to do in the lead up. Furthermore, as a current Verizon customer thinking of adding an iPhone to my current family plan, I have to say that I am relived the data will only be $30 per month because that and the extra line add on means the total extra per month will only be $40.
