Twitter Revenues Getting Set To Triple In 2011

Social Media Site Twitter About To Really Tap Into Revenue Potential According To Study

The internet research firm eMarketer says that Twitter’s revenue is about to explode and that for the first time the company will take its place as one of the more lucrative social media sites on the web. According to eMarketer, Twitter’s total revenue should top $150 million in 2011, which would be more than three times what in earned in 2010.

Twitter, which was founded five years ago seems to finally be hitting its stride as a money maker as 2010 was the best revenue year for the company in its short history as it raked in $45 million over the year. Still the jump from $45 million to $150 million is a substantial one that shows that the internet and social media in particular is only growing in importance and value. eMarketer says that Twitter could even be topping the $200 million revenue mark by the end of 2012.
