Panasonic Shows Off Four New Lumix Cameras [Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3, DMC-ZS10, DMC-ZS8 and DMC-FX78 Join The Lumix Lineup]
Just when you thought Panasonic might be out of the whole “product announcements” game following its run on CES just a couple weeks ago, they pull us back in with a whopping slate of fresh point and shoot cameras in the Panasonic Lumix lineup, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3, the DMC-ZS8, the DMC-ZS10 and the DMC-FX78.
Mostly these are updates to earlier models, so they represent incremental improvements over those earlier ones. Thankfully, we have specs on most of the line for you.
First off, we have the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3, which is a 12.1 megapixel shooter that offers up a variety of resistances (waterproof to 40 feet, shockproof to 6.6 feet, and freezeproof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit), as well as 1920 x 1080 resolution video, a proprietary one-touch uploader, a 3D Photo Mode that lets you take two consecutive shots and overlay them to get 3D shots, and a built-in GPS, compass, altimeter, and in an oddly growing trend, a barometer.
Next we have the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS10, a 14 megapixel camera that offers 1920 x 1080 video recording, a three inch touchscreen with a variety of options of its own (touch-based autofocus, zoom, shutter control and playback), an improved autofocus, a ten frame per second burst shooting mode, 3D Photo Mode, the Lumix uploader and your choice of color options, as well as GPS.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8, meanwhile, includes everything the ZS10 does but drops the three inch touchscreen and GPS, and will only shoot video in 720p.
Lastly, we have the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX78, which is a 12.1 megapixel camera that boasts a hefty 3.5 inch touchscreen that packs the same options as the ZS10′s touchscreen, 3D Photo Mode and the Lumix Uploader, as well as color options.
The whole set looks to be coming out this March, and we don’t have pricing yet–probably won’t until closer to launch–but if you’re looking for a new digital camera, you’ll have a whole bunch to pick from shortly.
