New Motorola Xoom Ad Shows Specs & Features Again, Says Nothing About Release Date & Pricing
The Motorola Xoom is looking more and more like the tablet to have if you’re not going for the Apple iPad or iPad 2 although we’re still only looking at specs and features on a piece of paper surrounded by hype and plenty of rumors. Before we can tell you what the Xoom will cost and when it will be available in stores we’ll take a look at a new Motorola promotional video.

The 80-second clip embedded below shows some of the most important specs and features of the device, at least according to what Motorola thinks customers want in a tablet:
- “I want software designed for a tablet” – Honeycomb – The first and only official Google software for tablets (Motorola kinda takes a hit at anyone else using anything but Android 3.0 on an Android tablet)
- “I want to share my life as it happens” – webcam with Google talk and 5-megapixel camera with HD recording
- “I want the web to be the web, without restrictions” – Flash 10.1 support
- “I want my tablet to be as fast as my PC.” – dual-core processor
- “I want to watch movies the way the filmmaker intended…” – 16:10 HD display aspect ratio
I have to say this is one of the best tablet commercials I’ve seen in a while, and I’m trying hard to be as objective as possible. The Xoom looks great on paper, and seems to provide the user experience you’re looking for. That goes to show, again, why Windows 7, or at least a pure version of it, won’t be able to offer such a tablet experience yet, and that’s why 2011, when it comes to tablets, we’ll see iOS and Android dominate the market.
But hey, what about you guys? Have you figured out what you want out of your tablet in order to add to the list of features above? Are you going to get the Xoom?
