Duke Nukem Forever Gets May 6th Release, This Time For Real
Finally seeing a solid date for Duke Nukem Forever puts so many things into perspective. Most of all, exactly how young this industry still is since we’ve been spending almost half its lifespan waiting for this game. Second, that even though Gearbox have come in and saved Duke Nukem Forever from oblivion, perhaps they should have left it there.

Probably the greatest crime you could commit against this game and the mythology around it is making it a game in the first place, making it a real honest to goodness run of the mill game and then having people play it and forget about it afterward. Because no way are they making a game that’s living up to twelve years of insane hype, there’s just not enough awesome in the world. They’ll just be making a first person shooter featuring a mascot of the 90′s that went out of style with Hanson, which will be played, dissected and dismissed like everything else. And worse, probably bring about the unthinkable, a Duke Nukem Forever 2.
