The Verizon iPhone 4 is supposed to change a lot of things, including antenna design. With the change in button positions, new bumper case designs are necessary. Apple has ingeniously designed a universal iPhone 4 bumper, though.
The upcoming Verizon iPhone 4 introduces several changes. For one, US users now have a choice of carriers (which is a welcome change). Secondly, because of a different mobile band, the Verizon iPhone 4 antenna design was changed. Again, this might be welcome, due to the likelihood that the grip of death issue has already been resolved. However, because of differences in button placement, some have pointed out that this could become an issue when buying bumper cases.
Apple is now selling a universal iPhone 4 bumper case that should work with both Verizon and AT&T iPhones. Even with the repositioned mute and volume button, the solution involves enlarging the slot for the mute button.
This proves that not all solutions need to be complicated.
