Modern Warfare 3 Coming In November 2011, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, Raven On It

Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, Raven Working On Modern Warfare 3 For November Release

It seems like Activision has drafted three studios to do the job of the mighty Infinity Ward that was, with former Visceral founder and Dead Space creator Glen Schofield-led Sledgehammer helping out on single player and Raven on multiplayer duty.

I’m all for inter-studio cooperation, seems to have worked a treat and may actually have saved the Medal Of Honor franchise altogether for EA, but I don’t get why Activision felt the need to hide it. At least one Modern Warfare game will be playable this time next year.

The question of whether Infinity Ward or Sledgehammer will be developing Modern Warfare 3 has been asked to deafening silence by the press on more than occasion, but this arrangement may make Activision’s reluctance to answer understandable. Scrambling three studios to handle a job the studio you claimed to have completely rebuilt can’t isn’t exactly something you want to advertise. Modern Warfare 3 is expected in November 2011, according to this LA Times report.

I came across this news [ed: link removed] that Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 11, 2011. 11/11/11 sounds like something activision would do, how often does that come around?
