Microsoft Kinect SDK Rumored To Be Coming Soon, PC Games To Follow

Kinect PC SDK To Be Released, Should Open Kinect PC Development Doors

Steve Ballmer pretty much ruined this news already, but all he did was say that it was coming, he didn’t exactly say when. Well, that’s alright, there are some rumors floating around that will finish what he started. If they’re true, that is. XNA support, drivers and an SDK are coming as part of an XNA update called “Community Technical Preview.”

While the recent parade of hacks wasn’t at all bad, we’re pretty excited to see what some actual game developers come up with Kinect-wise. Keeping in mind that the PC is still home to some of the most creative developers working in games today and a thriving indie scene and that sometime the two are one and the same, I’m now beginning to see through Microsoft’s paper-thin ploy to make me buy a second Kinect for my PC. I’m probably still going to do it, but I’ll know. And they’ll know I know.
