Groupon Works Out Partnership Deal With Chinese Group Tencent
Since Groupon effectively decided to go it alone in turning down the buyout bid from Google, no one can claim the internet coupon giant is resting on its laurels. In fact Groupon is doing quite the opposite actually, actively pursuing deals that will ensure good growth for the company throughout the world.

Just a few weeks ago, Groupon made some purchases of companies in Europe and Asia that allowed it to dip its toe in international waters and yesterday it announced another deal that will give it an actual foothold in Asia. Groupon has sealed a deal with Chinese deal company Tencent that will give the American daily deals site better exposure in that part of the world.
While the details of the partnership between Groupon and Tencent have not been officially released, industry insiders are venturing that the deal is most likely some kind of co-branding. For Groupon this would be the best deal because the Chines market is extremely hard to penetrate unless the company is Chinese owned.
