Motorola Atrix 4G Release Date March 1st?
I spent all week in Las Vegas last week reporting on CES for TFTS – and the Motorola Atrix 4G was probably my most favorite singular new gadget unveiled at the show. AT&T and Motorola reps at the show made it clear that the two companies were still in negotiations regarding price and a release date for when the new superphone would make an appearance. But now, leaked documents show that the phone could be coming March 1st to AT&T’s network.

Even without the ‘webtop’ technology, the Atrix is pretty impressive, HSPA+ network connectivity (4G), 4-inch screen, dual-core processor running on NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 technology. But, it’s also got the webtop technology where you can use the phone as a desktop computer, or plug it into a laptop shell and use it as a laptop. And, what sold me, is that you can transition from desktop to phone to laptop without interrupting your work session. It’s all seamless.
The folks at AndroidCentral have posted a leaked internal screen that shows the phone coming out on March 1st. Officially at the show, Motorola reps would only tell us Q1 2011 and they seemed adamant that AT&T wasn’t set on a price yet. My only concern is that AT&T will price all this stuff too high. I mean, $600/$200 for the phone isn’t bad. But knowing AT&T’s track record, they’ll probably ask $200 for the laptop dock and $200 for the desktop dock, pricing the cool ‘webtop’ technology out of everybody’s hands. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the final prices are before screaming foul at AT&T.

400? God, AT&T truly is misery for customers like me. I will go with the Samsung Infuse instead if this is the case. An Nvidida card was responsible for screwing up my last HP laptop 3 years ago.
@lauradfarley,
Prices were just conjecture on my part but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them be high. At CES, the Motorola reps would just say “ask AT&T” whenever we asked about the pricing for the desktop and laptop docks.
