Groupon Making Purchases In Order To Expand International Pull

Groupon Launches Three New International Branches Of Internet Coupon Service

Since Groupon’s initial move to bring in an additional $950 million, the internet coupon company has not rested on its laurels and instead has made some pretty heady moves to drastically improve its international standing.

Groupon announced yesterday that it has purchased three local coupon companies that were in direct competition with it in India, South Africa and Israel. SoSasta, Groupoer and Twangoo are now part of Groupon as opposed to attempting to beat it at its own game and Groupon has officially launched its service in a part of the world where they had no previous identity.

Groupon’s business model actually makes it fairly easy to expand whenever it feels like it but the hitch is always going to be building and maintaining relationships with merchants in local areas that have never dealt with the company before. The three local deals companies they acquired were considered the tops in their areas, making it easier to foster relationships there.
